Shera is quite busy these days. The official mascot of the Commonwealth Games mingled with students at DU’s Arts Faculty on May 28, the day when admission forms started being sold. Shera was happy to be in the thick of things, shaking hands with students aspiring to make it to the university. Students busy filling up admission forms had a surprise in store as the official mascot gently walked up to them and wished them good luck.
The students also got an opportunity to get themselves clicked with Shera and take home the prints thats were being developed and distributed at the venue itself, free of cost. Deeapli Ghosh, Meenakshi and Divya all clicked themselves with Shera. “It was really nice to have a photoshoot with the cute Shera. We really didn’t know that we had such a lovely surprise in store for us today,’’ said Meenakshi, who had come with her friends for filling up the admission form.
Students also came out in large numbers to participate in the quiz competition which was organised by the Organising Committee, Commonwealth Games at the faculty of Arts. The theme for the quiz was Commonwealth Games.
According to a project officer of the Commonwealth Games OC, the main purpose of Shera’s visit to the DU was to spread cheer among students and make them feel relaxed since they are weighed down by stress and anxiety related to admission at this time of the year. “Shera’s presence had definitely made the atmosphere here more vibrant and lively,’’ the officer added.
Shera will also go to other Delhi University colleges in the coming days and spread cheer among students.
